개요

Along with Fighting Cock Islet, Dinh Huong Islet is one of iconic images of Halong Bay. You can see the islet's image printed on the 200,000 VND note - which signifies its sympbolic value in Vietnam.

Dinh Huong Islet is situated to the southwestern Dau Go Island and about 6km from Bai Chay Tourist Wharf. The islet consists of only one huge stone, which has a shape of an incense burner. This is a reason why the islet was named Dinh Huong (Incense Burner Islet) by locals. No one knows the exact time when Dinh Huong islet was formed, however, from the past to the present, the islet still remains as a sacred symbol of Halong Bay’s earth and sky.

According to scientists, Dinh Huong is a vivid evidence of the typically geological and geomorphological values of Halong Bay. It is not only an attractive sights of the Bay but also served as an object to navigate for all cruises and boats. Heading to the southwest of Dau Go Cave, on a route to visit Thien Cung Cave – Dau Go Cave – and Titov Island, travelers will have a chance to see this masterpiece.
